I always thought ol Jim was a nut(he is), but this is a great read for those wanting to buy a revolver who don't know what to look for.

Especially like his views on what to look for in a Taurus and Rossi.

I was always tickled when my dealer would question someone who wanted a Taurus. The answer was usually price. He would recommend supplementing their income by any means necessary to save up and buy something better. The usual recommendation was to pick up cans on the side of the highway in your underwear because that way you would know the level of embarrassment equivalent to owning a Taurus. lol

i have a few Taurus' and love them all. No troubles. In fact, I bought my son in law a 4" SS .357 one when after being married a while my daughter said he had an auto that would shuck the mag after about 4 rounds. He knows rifles and hunting but self defense never entered his mind as a single guy. I know that Taurus will go bang every time he uses it (plus my daughter took adverse possession of one of my Colt's when she moved out so they both can shoot).

Good stuff.. I think I actually read the old version. And he mentions DW by name ( yeah) though he doesnt consider them being bought.
