Anyone here ever used a Dillon Super Swage 600?
I don't mind the trimming, chamfer and debur but reaming out the primer crimps on military brass is a pain. I processed about 1000 pieces last night and the decrimp was half the time and most of the aggravation.
The super swage is about $100, but if it actually takes cares of the crimp, it might be worth it.
thoughts? reviews?

I'm thinking of buying one. The modified one in this video about has me sold. The modifications are a piece of string and a rubber band.

YES, the Dillon swagger is worth the $$$. Instead of cutting out the crimp with a reamer and leaving 2 sharp edges to possibly hang up primers........ the Dillon form a radius where the crimp was. Other systems do the same radius, but they require support on the case rim (thus, some deformed rims). Dillon supports the case from the inside. This might require sorting some brass, but still a MUCH better system.

I hear ya sub. Even the ones that I reamed ended up being crunchy sometimes when the primer went in. Grafs has the SS600 for $87. Guess I better go ahead and spend the money. I might have to paint it red so the Hornady press will play nice.

Just keep them in different rooms and they will never know...................
$87 sounds like a DEAL. That is not much over what I paid for mine from Dillon 20+ years ago..............

That is a cool mod that PhillipM put up there and I am going to try it. I wonder if the BATF considers that "bump-firing" or a machine gun.

You do know that being in possession of shoelaces and an AK-47 at the same time is illegal..................
Yes, there is a trick using a shoelace to make an AK fire "full-auto". Basically it is assisted bump-firing....................

I rigged up the rubber band and string on my dillon 600 and it works great. Alot faster too.

Well the 600 arrived today and it works as advertised. I did the rubberband/string thing and that also works. If you have bunch of crimped brass, this thing does the trick.

Nothing works for manual swaging like the Dillon 600. Faced with 3000 Lake City .308 cases, I forked out the green for time's sake. I bet it's faster without the rubber band:
I C-clamp the 600 at an angle of 45 degrees from the edge of the table. Once the depth is set, I can do 650-700 cases an hour. I set up a rectangular box with about a 15" x 9" opening, on it's side, with a shim (a small weighted box, anything) underneath it to prop its' front bottom edge at an angle of about 30 degrees so the mouth of the box is tilted up at the end of the swing of the 600's rod that inserts into the case.
Feed the case onto the support rod with the left hand. Cycle the swager with the right. HIT the lever with the right thumb, launching the case into the box, (like 'field goaling' the brass case into the box--it's exactly like a football between the uprights). Feed a new case with the left hand, cycle, etc.
My Dillon had a slight amount of slop between the cavity and the case support rod. This caused an inconsistent misalignment between the primer pocket and the swager. I took some 1/2" strips of duct tape and shimmed the cavity on both sides so the brass would line up with the swager when the brass support rod is slammed home with the feeding left hand.

Decrimped 800 LC cases in an hour today without even hurrying.
This blue stuff may be OK.

I'll be sure to rig it up on yours when I get around to processing some LC brass.
I'll get it back to you eventually. It's lonely here being the only blue on my bench.

Guess I'm going to have to get one...have a 1000 or so LC deprimed cases sitting on the bench for a month now. Just can't seem to get enthusiastic about reaming all those suckers.

I hear ya. I've got a tub full of unprocessed LC that I've been dreading. It doesn't seem so bad now.

Just let me know when you want to borrow mine ... Soon after I got it a couple years back, I did all the LC I had on hand -- 5-7K and put them in ammo boxes. Have not used it since ... just sits on the shelf collecting dust.
