anyone use a Burris Timberline?

Post by Joe S. on Tue Jun 28, 2011 10:43 pm

Nikon guy here. Love em all!

I have a traditionally mounted 2-7x32 on my scout rifle. It fits nice and low on my rifle and clears the picatinny scout rail. I want to keep the scout rail cause I can mount gadgets on there if I need to. Don't want to remove it. Don't want to put tall rings on the rifle. But see where more magnification would be beneficial.

Enter he Burris timberline. I see they make one in 4.5-14x32. I'm thinkin that would fit, and still give me the low mounted, lightweight setup I have now and give me LOTS more magnification at the same time.

Anyone have any experience with this scope?

Interested myself. Been looking at them but haven't pull the trigger. Do have the fullfield II in this mag, and i am very pleased. Looking to buy another for 22.

Don't own one myself, I like to stick to the Nikons also.

But, in this months issue of Outdoor Life they had their gear test, and a Burris won their great buy award in the scope category. I don't remember which model it was but it was a 4.5x14. They tend to be pretty reliable on their assesments, you may wanna glance at it and see if its the same model.
