nearby ccw training courses?

Post by lpdb185 on Mon Jul 04, 2011 11:56 am

i'm looking into finding a beginners level ccw course or basic handgun course that my wife and i could go to. everytime i try ot teach her anything, she gets mad and starts arguing with me, LOL. i figure it would be better just to take her to a course somewhere, but i don't know of anywhere around here. are there any ccw or basic handgun instructional courses around the south MS area? if not, what would y'all recommend?

I am interested in the same for the same reaseon. My wife will listen to anyone except me, no matter the subject. However, I will wait and see what course DPS requires for the new "enhanced" permit that was supposed to go into effect July 1.

Cliff Cargill is a good one to talk to. He's an NRA instructor and from the few times I've shot with him, he'll give advice and the reason for doing it like that.

What about something in the Jackson area? I know we have several NRA instructors here. Maybe they could get together and offer a 1 day 8 hour course for those of us in this area that want the FP endorsement. Possibly something at Magnolia RPC. I really don't want to drive 2-3 hours for a 2 day course (or a 1 day) that costs $200-$300 dollars and have to pay gas, hotel, and meals on top of class fees.

There should be enough of us in the area to form a reasonable size class.

Whatcha think?

The Southwest Gun Club's October NRA Personal protection in the Home training class is full for October. We are conducting another class on December 2+3, 2011. We have 16 students for the December Class and can take up to 33. The price is $65 including NRA materials and the use of handguns and ammunition.
