LC9 vs Kahr CM9
If I'm just taking out the trash or steeping outside I usually throw a J Frame in my pocket. I have a little girl and we go play at the park and my Glock or Sig are big and will likely be seen while I'm sliding or swinging with her. I just don't like having 5 shots with a slow reload. I want to get a compact 9 that will hav a flatter profile and will allow for a faster reload. I am leaning towards the Kahr CM9 but I have seen alot of guys getting the LC9. Can anyone weigh in and give me some advice? Thanks all

Re: LC9 vs Kahr CM9
I haven't owned a CM9, but did have a CW9 for a while. It was a nice shooting little pistol, however was just slightly too big for pocket carry. The CM9 may cure that problem, since it's shorter in all deminsions that matter than the CW9. I had an LC9, as well, and found it slightly too large for pocket carry, too. If you're a larger person, any of the three might work for you. All three would be perfectly acceptable for IWB carry and I figure you'd forget any of them are there. As far as quality goes, I'd put all three of them on equal footing. Never had the first minutes trouble out of the Kahr or the Ruger. Speaking of capacity, check the CM9, because you may not be gaining much over your revolver. I believe the Ruger and CW9 hold 7 plus 1, which is enough gain to be notable. Hope that helps.

Re: LC9 vs Kahr CM9
I had a Kahr CW9. It ran flawlessly. Was accurate and fed every type of hollow point I stuffed in it. Very light on the hip and it would disappear using an inside the waist holster. The only down side if there was one...the cost of extra magazines were steep. So take the base price of the gun and add $100 for extra mags.
Other than that..I would buy another one without hesitation.
Reading good things about the Ruger..have not had a chance to shoot one yet.

Another one you might want to take a second look at is the Taurus PT709 Slim 9. It's a little cheaper than the others and, if it handles as well as their little P738 .380, it's a fine little gun. Out of all the little pocket .380s, I think the 738 is the best handling of them all and I've shot just about all of them.

Looks like a pretty nice deal on that one.

Sup Joey...But if you arent set on a certain caliber, i would have to say the Bersa .380 is a good pocket gun, sold mine recently but never had any problems.Think it holds 7+1 or 8+1 but inside of 20 yards it was damn accurate, of course shooting over that distance with a .380 is hit and miss.
P.S next time your in town give me a holla, need to send some lead down range

Re: LC9 vs Kahr CM9
I've been debating between the CM9, PM9, and LC9; and I went to the gunstore to fondle them a few weeks ago. The PM9 has a better fit and finish than the CM9, but that's all exterior stuff. Inside, they appeared to be the same gun (except that the PM9 has a match-grade barrel). The PM9 also comes with 2 mags whereas the CM9 comes with 1. The LC9 just didn't fit my hand as well, but I wouldn't have any qualms about buying it if it felt a little better for me. Also, the LC9 is just a smidge bigger; you can barely notice the difference unless you measure them or have them both side by side though.

Whats up joey? I put a few round through a friends lc9 and it felt pretty good. I made a can dance around at bout 10 to 12 yards. I have never shot a kahr but I have put hands on a few and they have always felt good to me. The kahr feels like quality piece. Im thinkn bout getn me a pocket 9 also. Im leaning towards the kahr.

I'm back in Baghdad Scott and Fugan. Other than that things are well. I'm just saving money for a couple of gun purchases when I get back.

Alot of good choices mentioned. You will just have to put in the leg work and find the one that speaks to you. Yea, I know, tough thankless job.
I have the 709, and love it. My wife carries the Bersa 380, and I am getting my daughter a Bersa this week as well. Not the first problem with either of these.

For what it's worth I picked up a Kahr PM9 few months ago. Great pocket carry in a Desantis superfly in all but tight jeans. Gun shoots great - long trigger pull but smooth. I looked at the Taurus but the PM9 was smaller

Re: LC9 vs Kahr CM9
My wife and I are looking at the SLIM and at the LC9. I like how the LC9 (with the magazine finger extension) felt personally. I was originally looking at a Glock 26 and a M&P9 compact, but like the single stack 9s a bit more for concealment purposes.
Thats just my .02 cents worth. I will be interested to see who has shot both and can comment.

I pocket carry the CM9 every day in an Uncle Mikes #3. Very well concealed and never have any issues. Cant go wrong with the CM9 in my opinion.

You aught to be well versed on the small 9's. You unloaded that 26 on me and I unlo...err sold it. Seriously, wish glock would come out with a single stack. Summers here in MS are hard on carry guns and holsters.
No mention of the Smith Shield? I like that 40 cal option.

Here's my 2 cents: I just got a Taurus PT111 MilPro 9 and carry it in a Theis IWB holster (comes with two 12 round mags) and it just disappears. After about an hour of wearing it, I don't even notice it. The holster is tuckable and the MilPro is only 1.125 inches wide. After 200 rounds with various brands of ammo, excellent accuracy, and absolutely no fte or ftf I'm sold. Never tried the Kahr, the LC9 or the Taurus 709 slim so I can't compare, but can't imagine liking them better than my MilPro! As indicated elsewhere, to each his own and I've found my own (isn't there a song with those lyrics?)
