MS Carry Law

Post by BrandonJamesFM on Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:28 pm

Hi. New in town. I must say...nicest folks I've met in a long time in this state. Now, If I read correctly I AM allowed to carry a loaded handgun in the family vehicle. If thats the case, does it matter if its loaded with hollow points?
Really appreciate any help.

Your car is an extension of your home in MS, so yes you can carry a loaded handgun in it and load it with whatever you choose. Welcome to our state!

Yep. What Expat said.

You also can shoot somebody who tries to break into your house or carjack your vehicle (or boat or camper) or rob your business. I think you have to feel threatened.

Welcome to Mississippi.

Welcome to the Mississippi, and now that you are here, i dont know the required length of residence but you need to go ahead and get you concealed permit.

Welcome to the Great State of Mississippi. The "castle doctrine" is the law here and applies to your house, car and camper. I would suggest that you go ahead and apply for a permit, just so that you can carry when you feel the need to do so. Glad to have you here neighbor.
