DPS still has old version of 45-9-101 on their site???

Post by Expat on Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:07 pm

Why doesn't the DPS update their website and show the current version of 45-9-101 with the public parks park removed?

Well it has been in effect for over a year now so you would think they would pull their head out of the sand and display proper information. I guess they have been too busy trying to rewrite 506 ......

The section was ammended by having the part any public park unless for the purpose of participating in any authorized firearms-related activity removed from the places not permitted to carry. Went into effect July 1, 2010. SB 2862

You know, about TWO years ago, I sent DPS a fresh copy of the laws, via the mail. With a letter about how they need to keep a current copy of the laws on their site, etc...

Two years ago.

Afterwards, got a call from one of the people at DPS saying they couldn't update their own website, but they pass out current laws to the permit applicants.

So, they have known, by Priority Mail and a letter from me, that their laws are outdated. Nothing has been done.

Their laws are current as of:
SOURCES: Laws, 1991, ch. 609, § 1.
SOURCES: Laws, 1997, ch. 470, § 1, eff from and after July 1, 1997.

oh, and... just FYI, those laws are so old that they still list 120 days to get a permit. Current law, as of a few years ago, is 45 days.

Yes I forgot about that one too. I personally believe they leave them posted because they prefer the more restrictive versions of the past.

DPS is probably still whining about not having the funding to update their web page....

You gotta wonder is this and the HB 506 thing is all done on purpose

Obviously they are "leadership challenged"
