what is the law for someone living with a convicted fellon
i was talking to my nurse this weekend about different gunlaws. he asked if i knew what the law was about living with a non-violent fellon. i told him i have no clue but did know who i could ask ( you guys ). i see it as a felon is a felon non violent or not. he loves guns and collects some nice peices. he doesnt have them in his home where he lives with his girlfriend. he says there at his fathers house close by.
i know felons cant own a gun and belive they cannot live in a home with wepons. ( in TN you better not have a felony and have a wepon in the home you live in your wepon or not) but i do not know MS law about it. i am sure its the same. just told him i would ask and find out. i did invite him to join our site and show off some of his toys.

I have heard similar rumors (that the wife of a guy who is a convicted felon can not possess a gun), but I do not find that in the Mississippi code.
Only this:
I never realized that a convicted felon could not possess a butcher knife. I suspect that most have one in their kitchen.
Only this:
97-37-5. Unlawful for convicted felon to
possess any firearms, or other weapons or
devices; penalties; exceptions
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person who has
been convicted of a felony under the laws of this
state, any other state, or of the United States to
possess any firearm or any bowie knife, dirk
knife, butcher knife, switchblade knife, metallic
knuckles, blackjack, or any muffler or silencer for
any firearm unless such person has received a
pardon for such felony, has received a relief
from disability pursuant to Section 925(c) of Title
18 of the U.S. Code, or has received a certificate
of rehabilitation pursuant to subsection (3) of this
section.

I am under the understanding that a convicted felon may not reside where firearms are available or stored.

that is the TN law doug if you had a felony and i ( LEO ) came in the home and found a wepon i would take you in for fellon with a wepon.
i am not sure if thats a federal law or governed state to state. my advice is to leave the wepons at his dads. or run off the girl and find one that has been a law abiding citizen and not convicted of felony embezelment.

i've never liked that law. if a person has done their time, then be done with it. most all of us make mistakes to one degree or another.
