ruger 1911

Post by useto on Wed Jul 27, 2011 12:16 am

I have decided to join the 1911 family. I have always been a fan of Ruger and own several. Where is the best place to buy the new SR 191ll local (Jackson and surrounding area)? I'm looking for a combination of price and service.
Thanks in advance.

That's a shame. Maybe Swan's can order me one. I'll have to check.

I saw one today! Love the price and it felt great. I have been wanting a full size stainless, so this may be one i pick up Smile If its built like their stainless revolvers, this thing will be a 45 acp tank!

I checked with 3 places and they all said check back in a couple of months. Can't get their hands on them yet. Let me know something gunaddict if you can get your hands on one.

I have an FFL looking daily and none are showing up at his distributor yet. I can hardly wait!

UPDATE: I got a call from Ruger. They said it would be FEB before the gun arrived because of the overwhelming demand for the pistol. They said the originally were set to build approx 15,000 and once marketing started they had 26,000 request. So needless to say the price went up for me $50 and pushed back a few months.

Why did the price go up $50? I just looked at wholesale, and they shouldn't cost a penny over $650 otd.

Good luck with that. Our cost as a FFL is over $1k.

Holy crap. That's disappointing. I had hoped to have one by end of the year. Sad they sure feel nice. And I've heard that same story at 2 other shops.

Sounds like you need a new wholesaler.

A guy just came into the store Saturday wanting one and I looked it up. Obviously there is no lead time stated but our cost was over $1k as of now. That might change but as of now they are more expensive than the Kimber we have on the shelf.
