Greetings from Georgia
Hello all, thought I should introduce myself. I joined to spread the word about another GA owner having some issues in Olive Branch. Having done that, here's a little about myself:
I live in GA and work as an instructor at Fort Benning, but I used to live in the Nashville area, hence the username. My parents are from the Delta (Dad from Sunflower County and Mom from Tallahatchie County) and although I grew up in Tennessee I went to college at Mississippi State. Some of my fondest childhood memories are of my Grandfather taking me to the old Benoit Hunting Club.

Welcome to the forum. I grew up hunting at Benoit Hunting Club too, lived about 5 miles down the road from it for 20 yrs.

Been to Ft. Benning many times in the past -- graduated from the Benning School For Boys way back when. What you teach?

Bubbat, you probably know (or heard stories about) my Grandfather, Comer West.
Captain-03, I'm a contractor (former NCO) serving as the Electronic Warfare SME, teaching at MCCC, I-BOLC, A-BOLC, MPCC, and doing some non-POI training for the line units. We're working on getting it integrated into the NCOA's, CRC, and maybe RTB.
Thanks for the welcomes!

I have no idea what all of those letters mean (well except NCO), but I'm the guy from that other message board that referred you over here. Welcome aboard, whatever you do!

Re: Greetings from Georgia
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I try to make it back to Mississippi a few times a year for football games, family reunions and such, so I would have eventually found my way over here to check the laws before carrying.
Wesm, Thanks for pointing me here! Here's a breakdown on the acronyms (I was still in "work mode" when I posted that):
MCCC: Maneuver Captains Career Course
I-BOLC/A-BOLC: Infantry/Armor Basic Officer Leadership Course
MPCC: Maneuver Pre-Command Course
NCOA: Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy
POI: Program of Instruction (formal classroom environment)
RTB: Ranger Training Brigade
CRC: CONUS (Continental US) Replacement Center (where they send individuals to train to deploy when they aren't going with a large unit)

Re: Greetings from Georgia
You and I have been in the same places. Went to State back in the early 2000s, went to grad school at UGA and did my field work in Baker Co., GA (just a little farther south than you), then moved to Nashville to work for a few years before making it to Jackson area.
You on the GON? I haven't been on there since I left GA about 5 years ago. I might have to see if I can still log in.
OH, and welcome aboard!!!
