Suggestions for a red dot sight...

Post by mercuno on Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:19 am

I have a crappy red dot that after about a 100 rounds drops my grouping down about 8 inches at 25 meter targets....geez...
Any suggestions for one that holds its zero. ? Cost effective?

I like my trijicon rx34 a lot so far. But I haven't used it enough to really give you any great details about it, except it really does adjust perfectly to the surrounding lighting conditions, so inside it's perfectly visible but not blinding. And outdoors it's like looking at the light of God(in a good way). Not too big of a reticle, at 4.5moa.

No batteries, that's about as "cost effective" as you can get with a red dot optic, and it's around the same price range as eotechs and aimpoints, maybe a bit higher depending on the mount you choose.

I've had 3 other people shoot with it on, and countless others just look through it. All have loved it, myself included

I have a aimpoint m2 4moa dot and love it. It takes a ton of abuse and returns to zero everytime i take it off and put it back on.

Got it for 400 bucks shipped on a AR15.com group buy from swfa.com. No problems keeping groups at 2" at 100yds.

I also have a tasco pdp3 or a pdp2 (cant rem which it is) on my suppressed 10/22 and love it. Its rugged and has seen more abuse than most service rifles. I think they go for around $125ish.

I have an Aimpoint and an Eotech. They both work great for me, the Aimpoint I have is 2x and I wish I had got the plain non-magnified model.

Well. I am a fundamentalist at heart so I decided to zero my iron sights and then I went and bought a Laserlyte K15 green laser. It has o-rings for some waterproofing and a sturdy mount...Let me tell you, I beat the begeezus out of this thing, I dropped it banged it around a lil rapid fire and a grand total of 500 rounds through it. I was amazed that it still held a perfect zero. I am so impressed and at 200 bucks it was fairly easy on the pocket, It has an optional pressure mount that I connected to my grip pod and it has a MOA dot of 1@ 25 and 3or4 @100..Would highly suggest this to any fellow zombie killers. Bright and easy to aquire in daylight to about 50 meters. Night is as far as you can make out the target lol. SO now I am thinking of side mounting it and getting a good quick release scope for her. Thanks for all the input guys

I recently got a green laser and it is awesome. It's on my AR pistol along with a microdot. Like you said, it is visible in daylight for short range and will go what seems like a mile at night.
