Star "Modelo Super" 9mm para pistol

Post by M1GarandFan on Thu Aug 04, 2011 8:03 am

Has anyone here ever owned or shot a Star "Modelo Super" 9mm para pistol? Is it a good pistol or not so great? I have found some at a really good price and am considering purchasing one.

I have a Star Super "P" in .45 ACP and it is reliable and as accurate as a good GI 1911.

It says it's a Star "Modelo Super" 9mm para (9X19) pistol. Is the largo a 9x23mm round?

STar's are the most miss labeled pistol I have ever seen. JUst be careful when you buy one..9x23 an 38 super will chamber and fire in a largo..

I will make sure to get one that fires the 9mm and not largo. Thanks for all the info. Still on the fence about getting one or getting a Yugo Mauser.

Yep, those were some of the ones I had looked at. I saw some at SARCO too, but if you read the fine print it says that they are in need of repair before they can be shot. SARCO is also the one that has the Yugo Mausers for sale ($145.00!!!!)

I have one of the 9mm largos. Little difficult to find ammo but it is a sweet gun. Im satisfied with it for the money i paid for it. Interesting gun anyways. Get both!
