Bullet storage at last

Post by doggoner on Thu Aug 11, 2011 3:18 pm

My granddaughter is visiting for the summer. We tackled a couple of projects I've been wanting to complete. (See Boolit Casting thread "lead cabinet storage") I cut out the pieces and discovered that 1/2 pine just wouldn't cut the mustard for the shelves. It kept cracking and proved to me that it just wouldn't do so I got a 1/2 plywood sheet and cut out the shelves from it. I didn't get pictures of that rodeo but did manage to get all the shelves cut. First was a test fit of the pieces.

Then the glue up began. It was like herding cats to get everything lined up and clamps put on.

Here the cabinet is with all the clamps in place. I used almost all my clamps. Did I mention it was like herding cats?

Some paint was applied (not much as I was about out of paint and too lazy to go get some more).

Here the cabinet is mounted on the wall next to my reloading bench. It's to the left and out of frame in this picture.

And last is the cabinet with my meager supply of bullets. From the left (the bullets are stacked from top to bottom) 6mm or .243, 25 cal in the next two rows. Yes, I have a lot of 25 cal bullets. Next are the 270,7mm and 30 cal. Last are the 8mm's for my 8mm-06. The final row is for the primers.

I hope this inspires you folks to "fluff up" your reloading area just like I said about the lead storage cabinet. Later---
