comptac holster

Post by lpdb185 on Sat Aug 13, 2011 9:09 am

i have a secret city weaponeers isotope7 holster for my 5" 1911 that is great, but the gun still doesn't conceal well under a t-shirt or some of my polo type shirts. since moving to jackson last week, i've been carrying my p3at, but i wanted something better. so, i talked my wife into letting me carry her kahr cw9 for a while. i didn't want to spend a ton on a holster and i needed it ASAP. i've heard everyone's praises of the hybrid styles and, as it turns out, comp-tac only has a 2-day turnaround. so, i ordered it saturday, received shipping notification monday, and received it thursday.

i got the spartan model, which is the thinner single-layer with exposed nuts. i wanted it as thin as possible and i knew that the exposed nuts aren't an issue. needless to say, i tested it out as soon as i got home thursday night. it took about 2 minutes to adjust the cant to where i wanted it. the plastic clips aren't as stiff as i expected, but they seem to work just fine. i wore it all day friday and it was super comfortable. the rough leather backing of the spartan model does a superb job of keeping the holster in position. all-in-all, i am very pleased with the holster and even more pleased with the pistol/holster combo.

There seems to be a lot of material below the muzzle of the pistol. How does that affect you? It looks good, do you have any updates? pro or con?
