AK-47, SKS AND CARBINE 100 YARD MATCH


NOTICE: TO EXPIDITE THE TOURNAMENT, EACH SHOOTER SHOULD BRING A STAPLE GUN, STAPLES, A ROLL OF MASKING TAPE OR WHITE PASTERS AND A PEN. THIS WILL MAKE TRANSITIONS DURING SCORING FASTER AND MORE EFFICIENT. OTHER EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE SIGHT BLACK, SHOOTING MAT AND A SPOTTING TELESCOPE.

WHERE: Southwest Gun Club’s McComb Range. Coming from the West, drive out US HWY 98 East I-55 Exit 15A) until you see the Homestead sign. Continue on 98E for 2 miles and the driveway will be on the left. Coming from the West, pass the Bogue Chitto Water Park and when you see the roadside market on the right side of the road, drive 2.2 miles to the driveway on the right. The name of the club road is Edna Drive. Drive to the back of the property.

WHEN: 10/15/11 Sign-up time is 8:30AM and shooting starts at 9:00AM

RULES: NRA Highpower Rifle Rules shall apply.

ENTRY FEES: $10.00 Junior fees will be $5.00 . I f prizes are voted on, an additional $5 will be charged,

FIREARMS, EQUIPMENT AND AMMUNITION: AK-47, AK-74, SKS 45, US Carbine. Any safe ammunition except tracers is allowed. You may use a telescope but iron sighted rifles and scoped rifles will not compete in the same class. If you don’t have any of the rifles listed, bring what you have and compete in a special class. Slings may be used in all positions except standing.

COURSE OF FIRE: NATIONAL MATCH COURSE:
Unlimited sighters at 100 yards 10 minutes time limit (any position)
1. 10 shots slowfire standing in 10 minutes on SR-1 Target at 100 yards
2. 10 shots in sitting or kneeling 60 seconds on SR-1 target at 100 yards
3. 10 shots in prone in 70 seconds on SR-1 target at 100 yards
4. 20 shots prone slowfire in 20 minutes on the SR-1 Target at 100 yards

5. Aggregate: Total of Stages 1-2-3-4

Slowfire may be fired with 10 shots in each magazine.
All rapid fire stages must be fired from standing then down to the required position. Except for shooters that are 60 years old or older or disabled. The shooter wanting to stay in position must keep his or her rifle off the shoulder and mount the rifle when commence fire is announced. Also, the shooter must not fire his rifle until one of the shooters that is starting in the standing position fires their rifle. When starting in the standing position, rifles should have the bolt locked open if possible and the safety must be left on until the rifle is mounted and ready to fire.

Doug, your title states AK-47, SKS and M1 Carbine Match....... I suggest you limit this match to 30cal bullets only...... If you allow the AK-74s then you will need to allow the other 22cal AKs.

Just a thought from me.................

That will be up to Phillip, he is the sponsor. He did talk about allowing .223 AK's as well.
