What month would work best for you for a meet up on the coast, October or November?

I am a member and know several others on here are too. Maybe we could get our own 'MSGO' range for a couple of hours one Sat or Sun afternoon. It could be mentioned that there might be some POTENTIAL new members that join as a result and no doubt there very well may be...and it could be mentioned that may be a few of the club members might want to join our forum as a result!
I am sure that ALL NON-members would have to attend a brief safety seminar at the range prior to being allowed use of it...safety first!
Just an idea...
Sounds like a plan -- someone needs to take "Charge" and talk with the Club President ...

Re: Coast Meet, whos coming?
I'd love to talk to the president, and see if I could arrange this.. I found her number on the site, and will be giving her a call about this. How many people total do you guys think we could get out there for a meet? If i can get a good figure to give her, it would definitely help us arrange a price that would allow us to shoot
edit: if any of you know people on the officer contact list for gcrpc, and could contact them and see what can be worked out, please do so and let us know what became of it

Re: Coast Meet, whos coming?
Just got off the phone with Julie, the new President of the club. They will have a meeting tomorrow afternoon, and she will bring it up to the board, and will call me thursday with the results. She informed me that it may not be possible, because of the insurance, or the safety concerns. I did voice that there could be potential for new members, and that we would possibly be willing to pay a nominal fee to allow us out.

Re: Coast Meet, whos coming?
I think if we paid a small fee and took the standard safety class would be in fact 'members for a day' and would be no different than members for a year...
In other words we would meet all of the other requirements of membership (a fee and taking a safety class) only our duration of membership is much shorter...
Unless the by laws or the insurance specifically prohibits such 'short term' memberships I cannot understand why they could not do it...
However, I could see where they may not think the 'risk' is worth the reward sort of speak...it may just be a hassle that they honestly don't need...but maybe they will surprise us all and be willing...!!!

Re: Coast Meet, whos coming?
awesome, Lt. Dan! represent the gulf coast division of the site
if you're allowed to bring nonmembers to the meeting, as a member, i'd like to come with as long as its after 4:30 pm
Arny, I totally agree. I think it'd totally be worth the risk if we attended a safety class taught by them. I honestly dont see how this is any different than their allowing the public for competitions which happens on a common basis. They still have to attend a safety meeting, correct?

I don't think non-members can attend. The safety brief they give is simple. About 20 mins an they walk you through the ranges. If I am able to attend I will let y'all know what happens.

Actually I dont think the public meeting is tomorrow. I think the member meeting is the third Saturday of every month at 6pm.

Well dependingon the outcome of tonight's meeting, we'll be able to tell if its going to be at the rpc in woolmarket or if we'll have to move it somewhere else. If that happens, I've got a place between gulfport and hattiesburg

Re: Coast Meet, whos coming?
GOOD NEWS GUYS! Julie just called me and said they have no problems letting us shoot there. We just gotta work out the logistics with Joe, the range safety officer and Ken. Joe does the safety courses and Ken has done birthday parties for people out there before. I'll be getting in contact with them either this afternoon or tomorrow concerning the best possible process of getting this going. Im going to start needing to know what days would work best for yall? Would something like a saturday meetup work? say, August 27th? TIme would probably be around noon
