mail in CCL renewal
So, I got my renewal packet in the mail the other day and I have some confusion about doing the mail back in deal. Hopefully some of you have already tread this path.
It says I have to pay $50 renewal fee and $32 for fingerprints, but since I have not been more than five years I don't have to get fingerprints again. But do I have pay the $32 anyway?
I am assuming that page 1, 3, and 4 will have to be notarized. I wasn't born out of the US and am not a retired LEO so I think I can leave those out.
It says that I need to provide two forms of id plus my old permit. Can I just photocopy my DL, permit and info page of a passport and go on about my business? I don't care to send in the originals.
They mention the instructors that can teach the enhanced course on the website, but they say nothing about what happens after you take the class. I would hate to renew, then take the class and then have to spend $82 on the new enhanced permit. Cliff is listed there so I might email him.
thanks,
terry

Fee is $82. Copy your DL, FP, and SS card and send that in. Get passport photo to send in (They give you two so I used my one I had left over) Get proper docs noterized. Send in. That's it.
To get your enchanced permit just take an apporved 8 hr class then take your certificate (supplied by class) up to a DPS station that does FPs and they will put a sticker on your FP indicading the endorsement. No fee and you can do this anytime.

I mailed my renewal off one day last week and got back my new card middle of this week. They are fast with renewals.

When did they start the mail in on CCL's, I had to go in to H-burg and renew mine last year as they mailed my packet to me three month's before they expired. Oh and it used to be renewed every 4 year's now's it's every 5 year's.
