Bought me a Ruger LC9

Post by cwink on Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:14 pm

I have been carrying a KelTec 32, but wanted something with a little extra umphhhh.. Looked at the PF9, Taurus Slim, but settled on the Ruger for overall fit, finish and trigger pull. For those that have a LC9, what holster are yall using? Is there one that will hold an extra mag? And have yall found an extended mag for it???

my uncle has one, he just carries it on his hip in an el cheapo uncle mikes. He seems to like it. I played with it a bit(but haven't shot it), and it felt good in the hand, and appeared to be well made for sure! He's ticky about dry firing so I didn't get to play with the trigger.

I'm pretty sure Ruger makes an extended mag? check sites like midwayusa, brownells or cdnnsports

Nice little gun. Had the chance to play with one a few months back. Definitely considering getting me one.

you picked a good one. I have over 500 through mine and various sd. I have had zero malfunctions. But all those rounds weren't shooting for pleasure, the little booger was hard for me to get used to.

Yes please, let us know how you like it. My wife can't decide between the Slim and the LC9.

How is the trigger pull on it? Most of the reviews I have seen online gripe about the trigger on the LC9? I have been debating between the LC9 and SR9c

looooooooooong, but smooth. The break is almost all the way back against the frame. Takes some practice become proficient with it (or at least it did for me) If size is not an issue, the SR9c is very pleasant to shoot and has a great trigger out of the box.

I tried the trigger on the LC9, Slim and the PF9.. They were all long triggers, but the Ruger did seem to be smoother and lighter..

Looking at an LC9 myself. Seems to be a nice size for concealment but with enough power to get the job done

I got to shoot a friends last week for about 50 rds. It was for the most part exactly what I'd anticipated but I was pretty surprised with 25-30yd accuracy. Good buy!

Put a quick 50 rounds through it the other day. No major issues. For the most part it shot pretty well, looks like it is shooting a little high and left but I was shooting at silouetts and not paper, so it was hard to tell. Definitly need to get it to print out some paper holes so I can see what my groupings look like, but fired well. Looking forward to a little more time on the range with it.

Congrats on the new gun. Please keep us posted as you become familiar with it. I was considering something like this for my wife maybe. I'm trying to get her interested in the idea of carrying since there are so many crazies running around these days. Happy shooting!
