Frame Crack help

Post by flagaman on Fri Aug 19, 2011 6:44 pm

Gentlemen, I was so pleased with my gunshow find that I had to brag about it over in the handgun section. But alas, a good cleanup and good light revealed a hairline crack in the frame right below the barrel. This is a older model 38 airweight with the aluminum frame. To those with S&W customer service experience, is it worth sending this gun to S&W or will they just say too bad because it is old. What say y'all?

Should not cost much to send it to them ... see what they have to say? Certainly worth a try -- maybe call them first to explain the issue --
