"DOWNLOAD" "PLAYNOW" at login screen?

Post by NRA_guy on Tue Aug 23, 2011 5:59 am

I am very reluctant to click on any link that I am not sure about.

Occasionally I see two links at the login screen. One says "DOWNLOAD" and one says "PLAY NOW" or something like that.

Trouble is there is no clue as to where the links take you or what lurks on the other side.

Has anybody clicked them?

What are they?

Assuming the links are legitimate (not just some advertisement) some additional description on the web site would likely get more takers.

It's an ad for Bearshare. Sort of like Napster.
Music downloads, file sharing, etc

Last time I clicked on it my anti-virus protection made out like I just set off a bomb and "advised" I close the window. So I did and just haven't clicked it again.

They change according to the tracking cookies on your computer. I will be looking at mustang parts or looking at ebay and the banner changes to businesses that sell mustang parts or the things I looked at on ebay.
