I've had one on my Kel Tec P3AT for several years. It gets carried every day and works well. I'd only suggest using them on guns that have a long and heavy trigger pull. These seem to be a bad idea for some autos. I'd never carry something like a Glock with a clipdraw. That's a good way to shoot your gibblies off.

Personally, I wouldn't carry one....they kinda scare the hell out of me. I know a guy that shot himself in the foot with kel-tech 380 when he went to adjust his pants. Accedently stuck his finger in the trigger guard and bang!

Exposed triggers seems like a bad idea to me.

Never have tried the clips, but I have a Barami Hip Grip on my 36 and love it. I can make a whole day shopping with my wife in Jack town with it without a problem.
