Range tested new load in SIG P225

Post by Doug Bowser on Tue Aug 23, 2011 10:32 pm

Shot the SIG/SAUER P225 today, with 146 gr HP with 3.6 gr Titegroup. I got a rested two hand group with 8 shots of 2-1/4" at 25 yards. I have a 146 gr 4 cavity mould and could replicate the load in cast lead. I think I will file the front sight to zero this load. The group is about 6" low but at 6 o"clock on the target. It is the most accurate service grade 9x19 pistol I have ever owned.

They probably are but I only paid $250 for this one in excellent condition. The load has a velocity of about 1000 fps.

That's my one year of high school German. Enjoy. Combined with a little internet translation to fill in the blanks.

All of the ones I have seen, mine and D Bowser´s included, were surplussed from the Polizei in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, North Rhine Westfalia, which is why they are stamped "NW" on the front right side of the slide. And they were manufactured prior to reunification, so they also say "West Germany".
