Lone Wolf vs Storm Lake

Post by LowLight on Wed Aug 24, 2011 4:53 pm

Looking to get a threaded barrel for my RTF Glock and Springfield XDM. Everyone that i know seem to be happy with Lone Wolf barrels for there Glocks. Finding a threaded barrel for my XDM hasn't been that easy. I ran across Storm Lake and few nights ago and like what i have seen but their web day does tell me much. i have emailed them and i was told that the hold their barrels to a lower middle Saami Spec. First of all what does that mean and how could that be a good thing. If any of you out there have had any dealing with either please let me know. All info received is a good info. So please chim in, thanks

I have two Lone Wolf Barrels for different guns, one is threaded in case I ever get a can for it...

Love them and would not hesitate to get another if I needed one for another project.

I will add that everyone says that Storm Lake is a better barrel and they very well might be...but Lone Wolf has done everything I needed it to and done so with better accuracy than what I can shoot...

Storm lake barrels are not worth the metal they are made from...

Pistol Gear makes a nice barrel

http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=00PG056

Bar-Sto also has them

http://www.barsto.com/category_main.cfm?ID=XD&cco=63

It might be cheaper to get the Bar-Sto through springer precision and canyon creek custom. They don't have all of their products on the web site so you might want to give them a call.

Had a Lone Wolf in my Glock 19 until it was stolen a couple months ago. Loved that little gun, say a little prayer every night the punk that stole it will castrate himself with it.

If I'm not misstaken they will thread a bar-sto barrel for you. They did all the custom work on my Xdm that I use in USPSA. He does really good work.

I have a bar-sto match barrel in my XD9. I bought it from Springer Precision and had them install it. Right now I have close to 10,000 rounds through it and I've been very pleased. I have noticed it likes a shorter OAL than my stock barrel. 1.140 in 9mm seems to be optimal.

If you really want an expert opinion call Scott at Springer Precision:
http://www.springerprecision.com/about.php

He answers his own phone and is very quick to reply to emails. He specializes in XD's I've been very happy with his work.
