After leaving the house at 6:30 thismorning I arrived at the range in McComb (after passing it a couple of time due to road construction) around 8:15 a.m. I met with Doug and we waited for the others to arrive and filled out score cards. After most everyone had arrived, we set out targets at 25 yards....

This is how they looked from the firing line....

After placing targets, everyone brought their gear to the line. I brought my Auto Ordinance 1911A1 to shoot in the match (thanks again, Doug, for staking the rear sight)....

There were quite a few revolvers on the line too...

Everyone got busy loading for the sighter period...

Wish I could have done better in the match, but I had gun issues plus I kept jerking the trigger. Should have oiled up the pistol before I left this morning, but I got in a hurry and forgot.

thanks Doug for putting on these matches and also thanks to John (I think, I'm terrible with names) for bringing the fans to help keep us cooler....

I hope to make it to the other match, but I'll have to see how my schedule at job #2 goes.

Also, thanks to Beladran for bring the WWs that I had him get earlier. Those were some heavy buckets....

Thanks again to everyone for making this a fun match to attend. I will be there for more (better prepared next time).

Great photos, hope I can make one of these with either my 1911 or an EG makarov.

I had a really great time today. The two Vintage Handgun Matches had 11 participants. I started shooting bullseye matches with the Syracuse, NY Police-Civilian revolver league in 1968. I used a S&W Model 10 .38 spl and that is what I used on Saturday. It is the purist form of traditional pistol shooting. We used US Army "L" targets and that is what they used to train our soldiers in WW2.

The fellowship at the range was great. We had a safe and enjoyable match.

I have been trying to find a way to have Bullseye Pistol Matches at our club and I think I have found a way to start them. In this match, there is no special equipment required or allowed. We are all on equal footing and most shooters have a handgun that qualifies for these events. We will be hosting additional Bullseye Pistol events with .22 rf Handguns. I hope we can revive this style of shooting in Mississippi.

Traditional Bullseye Matches are fired with 3 guns:

1. .22 RF Handgun

2. Centerfire Handgun .32 or larger

3. .45 Handgun

All three guns are fired with the 90 shot format we used in the Vintage Match. We do have a Match on December 10, that consist of a .22 rf 900 (as fired on the 27th) and a RF or CF International Sport Pistol (CF Pistol) event. You may be interested in it.
