Concealed Carry options

Post by cwink on Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:12 pm

Ok,

I need to know what is a good option to carry my LC9.. In the summer I wear cargo shorts, and some of the side pockets are big enough for it, for those that are not I carry the P32 Kel Tec.. But when the weather cools down I want to carry the LC9 full time.. I usually carry the Kel Tec in an ankle holster, but the LC9 is a little to big to get inside a boot... Is there a better ankle holster with a little more support than just the regular strap??? Is an IWB holster comfortable?????

Crossbreed "Supertuck" is surprisingly comfortable.

Agreed! If I had to own only ONE holster, it would be the supertuck! Buy the horsehide version though

I'll have to google that one. I bought a homemade IWB job at a gun show and its worked nicely. I had a friend modify one for me with a little more forward tilt I carry it everyday. I would think the Ayub rear guard would be comfortable and effective. You need to make sure to get a good quality gun belt.

The Crossbreed Supertuck can be had directly from crossbreed, or through midwayusa. I prefer ordering through midway because there is no wait if its in stock, but if its not in stock, then I would just order it through crossbreed. Either way, same lifetime warranty, same great product. You'll seldom find a poor review of a supertuck.

A quality gun belt makes all the difference in the world. However, for an LC9....not AS necessary because its so light, but it would still smooth up the draw if nothing else. I've found when others try on my holsters, they can't draw the weapon, and get all uptight about it being a bad holster because its too tight to be any use, so I'll put it back on and hmmmmm no problems!

Being a slim guy I tried and hated IWB, this option worked much better- http://shopruger.com/Mitch-Rosen-LC9-Holster/productinfo/50183/

I HIGHLY recommend a Remora. Crossbreed are great but do not compare to the comfort, carry options and price of the Remora. For $25 bucks order one and thank me later:)

To add a bit more on the Remora, the holster is clipless and it works great. You do not ever have to deal with getting the holster threaded or clipped on your belt, you don't even have to have a belt! It can be instantly located in ANY position around your waist. It also works better than any pocket holster I have tried too. Can you tell I like these holsters?

just my opinion there is no way I would ever wear a holster that is only held up by friction. I move around a lot and have a hard enough time just keeping my pants up. I love my holster but it was custom built to fit my gun and my belt with the amount of tilt I requested. There are many people around the jackson area who can do this, mine was done by a knife maker.

It's a bit more expensive, but if it's for a blued gun, I'd order the horsehide just to be safe. But I'd much rather have all my guns Black-T'd...but that's a whole other topic ha

I'm a sweater so its horsehide for me. Don't want the leather rotting. but its for a Glock with their own coating so shouldn't matter.

Ankle holsters are great for back up weapons. I just don't understand what you are supposed to do if you need the gun?
"Excuse me mr. BG, could you wait a second? I need to tie my shoe."

IWB is very comfortable for me. I feel naked now without it.
