Sites like Davidson's Gun Gallery

Post by Tennjed on Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:29 pm

I have been looking through Davidson's Gallery of Guns. If I understand it correctly you can purchase a firearm and have it shipped to a FFL you select. They go ahead and figure all taxes and shipping fees. I like the idea of doing it all at one place and getting the total out the door price.

Has anyone used Davidson's and what ate your experiecnces?

Are there other sites like this?

Thanks

I've used Gallery of Guns and thought about using Buds. The key is getting a relationship going with a local FFL.

I've used Bud's. Total price was less than anywhere else. Bud's lists "preferred FFLs" in your area with cost of transfer. That ahould give you the total cost of purchase.

Check with your local gun guy. I have talked with my local FFL on Davisons list. He can get the same gun for about $10-15 cheaper. The last one he got me for my daughter came out to be $30 cheaper than GOG.

Ive used both GOG and Buds..... GOG is faster and IMO has a better web site, and the gun has a lifetime warranty.... Buds' is slower but cheaper..... You can fine the model/extras/etc. that you want rather than settling for the one a store or pawn shop has in stock.... I do, however, check with the FFL's I use to see if they have or can order the model I'm looking for before I order on line....

Also, it could be coincidence or bad luck.....but all the guns I've gotten from GOG have been perfect!...EVERY one I've gotten from Buds has had at least one nick, scratch, scrape, or other minor cosmetic defect.........hmmmm, maybe that's why they are so cheap???

Since GOG has been mentioned, I don't think this is a hijack. Question - when you get a price and it shows several local dealers, is the Balance Due noted on each one the out-the-door dollars you leave behind or are there transfer fees, etc?

Thanks

I have not used them but I did call Davidson and one of the dealers listed and both confirmed that the balance due is all you pay. No more fees or tax.

I, of course, would call the dealer I choose before I committ to by just to be sure.

Both are legit, however Bud's will almost always have the best price around.

Example from GOG website:

MSRP: $637.00
Sale Price: $565.88
Addit'l Fees:$17.95
Tax: $40.87
Sub Total: $624.70
DEPOSIT: ($159.25)
BALANCE DUE: $465.45

Just like it says, you'd pay $159.25 on line when you ordered the gun....when you pick up the gun at the FFL, you pay the balance due.... The receipt will look very similar to the "quote"....and will show the tax and fees.....
