Plum Crazy Group Buy (the official thread)

Post by Caleb C on Thu Sep 08, 2011 4:04 pm

Well, I guess it's official. I'll be putting together a group buy to Plum Crazy. The price will be $125 plus tax out the door. If you want a blow back hammer for 22lr and/or 9mm that will be $10. I'd like to get at least 10 commitments to buy in order to keep the cost down to $125. PCF next ship date will be 9-23 but the order must be in by 9-14. Our shop is located in Lawrence but I can ship to your local FFL if you'd like.

For those of you who don't know about Plum Crazy, they make polymer AR-15 lowers. These are complete lowers for $125. Just slip two pins through the complete upper of your choice and you're ready to shoot. If you're not sure about the quality, just ask some folks how they like them. I've been shooting one for a while and love it.

Here's the list so far:

JKtruck150
dhollis51
BigDaddyQ x2 (add one blowback hammer)
captain-03
sidroski (add one blowback hammer)
WeBeJeepin x2 (add one blowback hammer)
+4 non-MSGO member

Ya'll shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I won't ask anybody to pay until you have the product in your hand. That is of course if you pick it up personaly. Shipping is a different story. However, anyone who wants to prepay is welcome to do so. Just PM me for payment options.

Non-MSGO members are welcome to get in on this. More purchases keeps everyone's cost down. We may even pick up some more members along the way.

$125 plus tax out the door. I'll take one with the $10 .22 hammer. I tried to get them on their site but it was under construction. As long as they take the two pins to mate up with a .22 upper.
I'm willing to drive if anyone is interested in driving there.
Where are you, in Lake or out from there? Pick up our neice there a few times a year. Takes about 1 hour from Pearl if anyone is interested.

Caleb, you stay around there during the week? I know something can "break" out in Newton or Meridian.

I live in Lake but our shop is in Lawrence.

Unfortunately ATF regulations will not allow me to deliver. They will have to be picked up and we will have to do a 4473 form for each customer. I wish I could make this easier on y'all but I got to follow the law.

The other alternative is to have it shipped to a more local FFL but that adds shipping cost and the transfer fee from your local FFL.

I can get to your shop, just need directions off I-20. Big town of Lake has two exits.

We are about a quarter mile just off of highway 80 as you head east toward Newton from the 100 exit. It's pretty easy to find. I'll PM you guys the street address along with better instructions if you need them. Our hours are pretty flexible since we're still working regular jobs. Guns ain't paying the bills yet.

I'm around in the afternoons and Saturdays. We can also arange for somebody to be there in the AM or even Sunday if necessary. Pick up time is not a problem. We'll work with your schedule.

Sounds good on the directions.
Question - can we get these transferred as a pistol?

Sorry. I saw that question on the other thread first. Here the same answer:

If these were stripped I could transfer them as a receiver and you could do what you like with them. They do have a butt stock already on them so I'll have to transfer them as a rifle. I'll talk to PCF about some lowers without butt stocks that can legally be transferred as pistols or just receivers

I talked to the nice lady at PCF. She said they could send them without the stock attached and I could transfer them to you as a pistol. I'm going to have to do a little more research on this though. If they began life as a rifle they can't be a pistol. If they began as a receiver they can grow up to be what ever you want. I just want to be 100% confident that they are classified as receivers before we proceed. I'll keep you posted.

For those of you around here (Terry/Byram area) that may want in on this deal.... I will handle the transfer for half what I usually charge members here, so it'd be a whopping 10.00 for this group buy only. Would like to 'see' one in person anyway and since they have yet to get back with me since I sent my FFL in, this would let me at least look at one. lol
