I would like it. Where is your shop? And, can it be transferred as a pistol lower?

What is everybody planning to do for the upper? I have been shopping around online but I havent made my mind up yet. I am leaning towards a shorty since I will already be working with a lightweight lower. Maybe I should start a separate thread for this topic...

I had planned to buy one and make a pistol with 7.5" barrel. That was before you guys bought them all. : )

May be I'll get my pistol out of the next shipment.

5.56 16" lightweight upper...that should take me another 3 months to save up for!

BigDaddyQ...last time I checked...that takes a couple trees worth of paper to fill out! When you are done, I'll buy a box of bullets to go through it!

no problem. I'm expecting it to be approved around the end of January. So when it gets here I'll post it on the "look what the ups man bought me" thread and you are more than welcome to come shoot it. Just gotta save up now for an EOtech and some form of backup sites.

I am correct in assuming that SBRs (Short Barrel Rifle), such as an 11.5" barrelled upper requires extra paperwork right and tax stamp? But can it be put on a regular rifle lower, or is this why everyone wants a pistol lower?

I'm no expert but from what I understand if you get a pistol lower you can have any length barrel you choose but you can never put a stock on the pistol. You must always have a pistol tube. Now this may be different if you have a 16 inch barrel maybe you can put a stock on it but i am not sure of that. So thats why they want a pistol lower. If you get a rifle lower to get a smaller barrel than 16 inches you have to fill out the paper work and wait. In addition I also think you have to get it stamped or laser etched SBR on the gun somewhere (not sure where).
