MAN-O-MAN..... it was BEAUTIFUL weather today for these matches. I was a little sad to see so few shoot the AK-SKS match....

I have a few pictures that I will post tomorrow, but I saw others taking pictures. PLEASE post some of those...................


The AK-SKS match was FUN. Whoever thought of the idea came up with a WINNER......

Brutus was the one who suggested having an AK/SKS match. Great idea. That was really a fun match.

Thanks again guys for hosting a great match! It was a lot of fun, in spite of the fact that 5 of my rounds on the RF prone stage seem to have disappeared somewhere between the firing line and the 100yd line . . .

dang Dan. you could have let someone win atleast one of the matches.

I'd love to, but I've got to get to work on deer plots some time or other. Probably bush hog and do my first disking this weekend and then disk again and plant in two weeks.

Scores are correct! Congrats to SGF on winning the matches. We'll have to start including the AK/SKS matches with the Carbine Matches and maybe we'll get more shooters.

Yep, they had the benefit of a larger target (SR-42 & SR-5 vs the SR-1 for Carbines).

So now I need to get a SKS? Y'all are killing me.

After my inaugural experience saturday with an AK and it's alleged rear sight, I know I won't be adding one of those to the collection.

It WAS fun, though, since i had no expectations of success.

Shoe, buy a Yugo SKS. Heavy and better built........... I should have bought one before the prices went up...........

What's YOUR bifocal prescription? Mine is somewhere South of Coke Bottle Bottoms. Rear sight was just barely a blur. I was amazed that I got most of the rounds on paper.

But...as I said, it was fun and I like trying new things. So, all in all, a good experience.

Thanks for the pics, SGF. Now everyone can see the difference in the targets. Wonder how many holes there were in the stands Someone got confused on the set up (was not me, too busy pounding stakes in for the last 3 targets).

Just be glad I was not there shooting an AK (or carbine) -- there would be more holes in the target stands!!

I don't mean in the stands (supports) themselves. I am talking about the cardboard (full of 22cal holes before we "30cal boys" arrived... ).
