Re: UPS has lost or stolen my rifle.
If you are not a dealer, the ATF doesn't care about the loss.
If you are a dealer and one comes up missing that is when they care. Best bet then is to put it in your or someones name and forget about it. Can't believe I said that, but it is...........

I had some mags shipped from Ruger in Arizona. It was UPS or FedEx. It had a tracking number.
Didn't get them.
Called Ruger and they reshipped.
They said it happens all the time.
They traced the shipment to somewhere and it just dissappeared.

I bet it shows up in the next few days.....On a side note.. I recovered a shotgun 3 years ago that was stolen in 1978. Nothing made my heart happier than finding a 90 something year old man and giving his shotgun that he had some many young years with.. Great day of stories and the things I learned..

That's a great story, especially with the age of the man. I know it brought back some long forgotten memories for him.

I Talked with UPS today they said the tracer would run for two more days then they would initiate the insurance claim if the rifle was not recovered and I would be notified by a email, guess they got tired of me giving them hell on the phone. From my experience thus far UPS is full of incompetence.

Nah, they just have insurance money thrown at them. UPS has plenty.savageshooter wrote:hey, the sqeekey wheel gets greased first!
Besides, whoever "stole" that rifle needed a "clean" gun for a special job.

Hmmmm.... shipped from Arizona... I bet the ATF intercepted them so they could smuggle 'em INTO Mexico.

Update: Rifle has been recovered in Tucson, AZ that's a long ways from Oklahoma lol. I had to describe and verify serial number with Tucson UPS hub security. The rifle will be shipped back to me on Monday.

I asked.....they (UPS) did not elaborate much on the subject of how it got in Tucson, AZ just said the rifle had been recovered and needed me to verify the serial number and give a description of the rifle.

I would check it good! Any scratches, dings or possible damage I would claim it on the insurance.
