Finally got a Glock 27 yesterday!!!

Post by Jarhead5811 on Tue Sep 13 2011, 14:08

After much debate I settled on Glock 27 Gen4 as my full power CCW pistol. I ordered three of the Pierce Mag extensions and two holsters from Amazon yesterday as well.

I'd have been fine with the extensions that didn't add capacity but these were cheaper, so I guess I'll have 10+1, or 9+1 with longer spring life.

One of the holsters was a Desantis SuperFly, I've already got one for my LCP, and really like it. I almost always wear khakis pants or shorts with cargo pockets. So, I figure this would be great and places the weapon in almost the perfect position for a quick draw.

The only problem I see with cargo pocket carry is, at least to me, it seems slightly less secure. With that in mind the other holster I ordered is a Front-Line Kydex IWB. I figure it would likely be better for occasions like the state fair where I'm in large crowds.

You will enjoy it. I got a Gen3 26 which is the same size. Both are just the right size for CC in my humble opinion.

In about 1998 I had a Gen3? (it had textured finger grooves, I think the original baby Glocks had smooth finger groves) model 26 but I let it go when times got tight. If I had a CCW at the time it would have been the last to go rather than the first.

Ive had a Glock 27 for about 6 months now a Gen 3. Ive put about 750 rds of various brands of ammo through. I cant find anything that it will work with. It won't even feed FMJ. Never had this kind of problem out of a Glock before. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? The malfunctions are all failure to feeds. Its not the magazines. Ive tryed 5 different mags all brand new.

You may want to contact Glock about your G27 problems. I had a G27 for several years and it would shoot everything with no failures to feed. I sold it to get a G19 (gen 3) because it was my only 40. I shot the G27 better than I am currently shooting the G19. I may need to look at getting a G26 thinking

That's very unusual. How does the feed ramp look? Nice and slick? You could have a bad recoil spring. Are there any non-Glock parts in the gun?

I'd be glad to take look at it if you are ever in my neck of the woods. I hate to hear of anybody having issues with their Glock. Furtunatly, they are usually easy to sort out. PM me with some more details and we'll see if we can get you up and running.

Yes everything looks good. Im up to 1300 rds and have tryed 6 different types of ammo. I shot mostly some 165 gr winchester FMJ today. Had 4 FTF in 200 rds of it. This isnt my first experience with Glocks. Ive had 9 Glocks over the last 15 years and never experienced this. All the malfunctions are FTF. But it does seem to be better with the 165gr. Normally have at least one FTF per magazine. Im gonna try another guide rod and recoil spring. If that doesnt work going to get it checked out.
