Re: Gunshow Gulfport
I would like to go, but im sick of paying $16 to get into gun shows (last one at MS CC) then suffering an attempted raping on products that i can get cheaper and in better condition online! sorry to say it.
one booth tried selling me a sightmark scope for $369. it was a 8.5-25x50 and sold on optics planet for $199 free shipping. I talked him down to $210, got it home, debris inside the reticle of the scope, parts scattered all over the box, etc.....
i just got word from sightmark today that ill will receive a refund.
also bought an OTF knife and after 2 days of trying to break it in so it would loosen up a bit (dealers suggestions) it finally stopped locking and now i have a $50 paper weight! thankfully i just got a replacement in the mail 2 days ago.
those 2 scenarios are what i have been dealing with ever since the last gun show rolled into town and stuck it to the locals. as you can see, i gained pretty much absolutely nothing but headache and hassle from my purchases at the last gun show. add in the cost of getting in and im clearly over the retail price of my products.
how can i be assured its gonna be worth my time and cash in this already tough economical crisis to pay just to look around? how bout this:
Let everyone inside for free. IF the deals are as good as the radio and everyone else portrays them to be, charge them the entry fee as well to make up for it. put yall's money where your mouth is!
also, i found a traditional century arms AK-47 in there for $550 plus tax. the guy would not come off of it and assured me it was the cheapest i would ever find it. Well, dad's pawn in pascagoula has them all day long for $475 plus tax. and i know where i can get another one within a $40 mile radius for $419 with a bayonet, 2 mags, and a mag pouch!
sorry for the rant. im just tired of it. Gun shows are like bug zappers. you know its nothing but trouble, heartache and a waste of time, but you just keep going and paying $16 anyways just to see the mediocre deals that only a few people are running for the first hour or 2!

Ill admit, thats an improvement but only by $1. when i said $16, its because my wife attends as well. Did you think she would let me loose in there with a wallet full of cards and no supervision? i may check it out, but there better be some good deals so i can spend some money or im going to be disappointed!
Hey 4runner, what day are you going? i might come in the same time just to meet you and say hello.

I'm going Saturday around 2pm when LtDan gets off work. Your ammo should be in today so I will bring it if 2pm is good with you unless you want it sooner.
