Review: Pearce Grip, Glock Sub-Compact Plus Extension -XL
Just got my Pearce Grip, Glock Sub-Compact Plus Extension -XL and got them installed on my Magazines.
I had a conversation with my StepBrother yesterday about how difficult a time him and another cop had removing the Glock magazine floor plates. Granted it's been about thirteen years but I didn't recall having that problem with my Glock 26's magazines when I put non-plus grip extenders on it back then. Well, I tried for a bout a minute before I looked up "Glock Magazine Dissassembly" and got this video:
For me it was as easy as the fellow makes it look. In place of the "Glock Disasembly Tool" I used a Craftsman T10 Torx driver.
The packaging claims a +2 on mag capacity and with some effort I can get two additional rounds in the mag but it won't seat into the weapon with the slide closed. I figure 10+1 is plenty and one extra mag in my weak side pocket is good enough (two would rattle).
I like size 8 gloves they fit my hands snug. So, my hands are fairly small for a guy my size, 5'9", 190lbs. With that in mind I'll tell you I wouldn't want extensions any shorter. These are perfect for my grip. It makes handling my Glock 27 very comfortable.
My prior experience with these type extensions on a Glock 26 and 19 leaves me unconcerned about the use of these affecting the reliability of my weapon. I am, however, a firm believer in magazine rotation and I plan to use the third magazine to rotate on a weekly basis.

Re: Review: Pearce Grip, Glock Sub-Compact Plus Extension -XL
I've read several reviews stating that these didn't add any capacity. I experienced this with one of mine. I removed the extention from that magazine and reinstalled it. It now holds ten .40S&W rounds just like the other two. I think the spring got hung up in there.
All of that being said plus one is still short of adding two usable rounds like the packaging claims but I really just wanted a place for my pinky to grip. So, I'm happy with them.

I tried the Pearce extension on my 26 but didn't like the way it felt. I ended up going with a magazine adapter for a G19 magazine. This gives 15+1 capacity. This is a G26 mag with a Pearce extension and a G19 mag with the grip adapter. The grip adapter fills in the back of the grip and it feels much better. Here is a link to the grip adapter. http://www.gunclips.net/gl26maad1.html

I may get the 22 to 27 adapter being I've got a Model 22 with three 15 round mags but for the pocket that I'm currently carrying my 27 in I doubt I'd use the 22 mags in it. There just isn't any room to spare, as is.22lrfan wrote:I tried the Pearce extension on my 26 but didn't like the way it felt. I ended up going with a magazine adapter for a G19 magazine.
