new ammo mfg getting started in jackson area
One of my co-worker's husband (he is also a member here) is getting all the legalities worked out to start manufacturing ammo. I got some ammo for my 444 marlin from him to test and I must say the man knows his stuff. He loaded em up with 240gr sjhp and my marlin groups six shots in about 2" at 50 yards with iron sights (3 shots touching). Much better than the remington core lokts I've been using. Very consistent.

this is his 240gr sjhp bullets out of my marlin 444p (18.5" ported barrel) with a williams side mounted peep sight and williams fire sight up front from 50 yards shooting off a caldwell rock rest and a rear bag. its not a scientific test and id say if it were any other shooter it would be a lot tighter. but compared to the remingtons, which were 3 shots in a triangle about 2.5-3" apart id say its pretty dang good...
If anyone is looking for custom ammo you can get locally, give him a shout. His user id is lima4spector. It would be worth your while I think.

Thanks for the plug.
I'm applying for both my firearms dealer FFL AND my ammo mfg FFL as well. Technically, they're on hold til January when I get back to Starkville where my place of business will be. HOWEVER....according to my local (jackson office) ATF contact, I can make any bullet for anyone as long as I don't make them for profit. That being said, I will make bullets for anyone for the cost of the components only.

Sid:
Been working on a website. GoDaddy was a viable first option but what they don't tell you is the raping you'll take in the upkeep of the site even after you buy the actual www domain.
Looking for someone that does that kind of stuff professionally that will not rape me on price. (maybe I'm looking for a needle in the haystack here)
You or anyone else that wants something can always PM me here or call/text me (601-942-8881) or email me directly.

Upkeep? We don't need no stinkin' upkeep. Holler at Hammer or Rw about what they use.

Will do. Thanks for that.
Primarily my focus is on custom orders since I will not be having a true store front. And I really don't want to cater to all the "gun experts" and "best shooter ever" types out there. I am on google places which is bring a good many hits.

Outside of Yahoo messenger, I usually avoid Yahoo like the plaque. However, I have not looked into their packages. Maybe I should.
Anything you guys can do to start spreading the word for me is greatly appreciated. I need to get as many rounds out there as possible in the near future.
Also note that there is a disclaimer and waiver form now associated with my loads. Just good CYA practice as far as Im concerned.

you know that I'm a HURGE (that's 1 bigger than huge) .308 fan. However, to fit your needs, I suggest an 80mm mortar.
Re: new ammo mfg getting started in jackson area
I'd like one for my 444 as well please.

I suggest an M1A1 Abrams. Its the next step up from your 444.
Re: new ammo mfg getting started in jackson area
What would be the price for a good 243 round? Say 100 gr BTSP with partition?

$1/round for anything that's not a magnum caliber. And I would like to suggest that you consider the Ballistic Silvertip in that .243 Win. I've had nothing but good reports from others that I've made them for. Especially if you're looking to use them in hunting whitetail. They'll drop within 0 - 10 yards.....grave yard dead. PM me for more info.
