Ankle holsters and backup pistols anybody?
I'm thinking over some of my options when "normal" concealed carry just isn't possible to do. When the appropriate attire or situation comes up that interferes with how you normally carry, whats your backup plan? Currently I don't have a second option so I work really hard to conceal what I have, but lately I have seen where sometimes it don't work out like I want it to. Ya'll please tell me how you handle this. Thanks.

I like a Smartcarry with a Taurus 85. Been wondering about ankle carry though.

I got my Ruger lcr specifically for pocket carry, and it works well even with oddly cut pockets. But I too have been considering a ankle rig

I've carrying my LCP, in my pocket with no holster. Even in tight jeans, while you can tell something is in my pocket you'd be hard pressed to identify is as being a weapon. Someone very observant might wonder why you're carrying two phones.

I carry a Keltec 32 with a pocket clip in my boot. Been doing it for years. I know its not a big gun but as we've all heard better than a rock. I like the idea of a pocket snubby but haven't bought one yet. My Uncle has one of the most concealable guns I've ever seen. Its a wallet 38 special deringer. You only get 2 shots but no-one and I mean no-one will ever know you have it.

I also carry a pf9, havnt tried it without a holster, but it is very slim and comfortably concealable. I will try the front pocket with it soon.

You guys that carry in your pocket need to get a holster. Don't want to get lint and stuff getting into the workings and jam things up. JMHO, I could be wrong.

Ankle carry beats your handgun on the skirts of cars and trucks when you get in and out.

Agreed....or more importantly accidentally discharging the gun when removing it from your pocket

My question on ankle holsters is how do you get to it without getting shot? Do you ask to tie your shoe first or do you just flop on the ground like in the movies?

Agree w/ video.... backup/secondary is only way I ever carry my ankle holster. And I will add.... as with any new addition....
PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
It is NOT an easy technique... or at least it wasn't for me. Took me quite some time before I felt comfortable and smooth/fast in getting that little 642 out. Maybe I'm just a bit slow though.
Re: Ankle holsters and backup pistols anybody?
I've found that my SIG 238 in soft IWB holster will ride in just about any front pocket very concealed..... I did pick up an ankle holster a while back, but haven't tested/tried it out yet....

I've been carrying a Seecamp in my pocket without a holster for over 10 years maybe more without a hitch. Now I'm sure someone may say " it's an accident looking for a happening" I feel very safe like it is but I'm always cognizant of it being there. Also it has a fairly hefty trigger pull.I have several s&w 442 that I would not carry "naked" in my pocket.
