Wamart with guns again!

Our Wal-Mart here in Ocean Springs is about to go back to selling guns again since Katrina. Also Micheal Waddell will be at our Wal-Mart the 7th,8th and 9th i believe for some reason. Just to share some information that i found out with yall.

Apparently there is a new initiative to restock Walmarts with guns. One of my local Walmarts in Waveland lost their guns. I'm sure they'll be glad to get them back. To bad they don't sell pistols anymore.

how long till they are supposed to be back in stock? and who is Waddell?

WalMart guns will have those that feel they always have the lowest price happy.

Case in point, in Walmart's latest flyer the entry level Ruger 10/22 is $217.99.

I have them for $199.99.

A little price shopping might suprise some folks.

Yea but look at what you get for that extra $18.00! You get to wait 30-45 minutes for someone to help you. Then wait an extra 20 minutes for them to find someone with the keys to the gun cabinet. Then you get to have a great conversation with someone that knows nothing about guns. Or is against killing animals or guns in general. And if you have a problem with the weapon they tell you they can't help you with that either.

I'll still give my business to private owned gun shops. But at least going to Walmart with the wife won't be as bad.

i agree. I will steal buy from a reputable dealer but i enjoy going to the ammo box to see if they have any sales going on! so a new gun display will add to my window shopping experience.

Did they ever sell pistols? I don't remember one ever selling pistols.

Wish you were a lot closer! Wal Mart has our local dealers beat on the 10/22.

afaik walmart never sold pistols. just pistol ammo. and i also think their ammo is hard to beat on alot of thinks. Guns and ammo in moss point is outrageous on their ammo. Dads in Pascagoula is also pretty stout. walmart in pascagoula is about $3 higher on everything ammo wise as opposed to the ocean springs and Diberville walmart. for instance: winchester white box 9mm - 100rd boxes are 21.98 at ocean springs and diberville, but in pascagoula they are $24.98. same goes for just about everything else. and the best part is that they will not price match their own store. what a croc. what happened to the "what? just match it" gimic they had on tv for the last month or 2?

Walmart on Pass Road in Biloxi sold handguns in the early 90's! I bought a RUGER SS GP100 .357mag there. They had the first GLOCK I ever held. I don't remember when they stopped selling them though.

they have got to big for there own good if you ask me,limits on how manny boxs of ammo you can buy here, i asked for a price on a case of 9mm one day and the guy said he couldnt sell it buy the case? 3 box limit! all i wanted was one box!

yeah i dont know what the deal is with that crap. I went in one night after i hit the gym here in gautier. I was picking up unrelated things and went to the ammo rack just for kicks. ended up wanting to purchase 3 boxes of WWB 9mm 100rd value packs. The lady scurried to find someone with a key. i stood there for like 15-20 minutes. they finally found someone and she came over and told me she couldnt sell it to me. I asked why. she said they dont sell past 10pm. It was like 10:10 at the time and i said i had been waiting for about 20 minutes so if they were organized i woulda been out of there b4 the 10 pm time limit. then she started questioning me on why i needed it. what was i using it for. etc. I said : Lady. Im Law Enforcement and I use it for training purposes. when i find it at a decent price, i pick it up. is that a crime? she stopped and said. Oh ok well in that case i can sell it to you.

My first experience with Walmart was in 1988 in Lubbock, Texas. There was one just down the road from the apartment. At that time that store did sell handguns. I remember reading something that said Walmart had "done a poll" and would quit selling handguns "because the majority of the shoppers polled felt selling handguns was not a good thing." I don't remember ever being polled and at the time I was shopping Walmart pretty regularly.

Walmart did sell Handguns. They stopped selling them at all U.S. Stores except Alaska in the early-mid 90's.
