I'm willing to help out to. I really think we should check in to doing one after a pistol match and see how much interest there is. I really want to do it so if we do it after a match let me know so I can stay at home with the wifey during the match and show up for the 2 or 3 gun. The wifey was pissed I was gone last sunday from 630 to after 130.

Maybe we should get all the wives together, so they can do something while we are shooting, that way they will be less pissed when we get home. Notice I said less pissed, because it seems there is no way to eliminate all the pissyness.BigDaddyQ wrote:I'm willing to help out to. I think my wife would be OK with it if I could land a new job, giving up on the photography biz unless somethings behind the scenes change.bubbat wrote:BigDaddyQ wrote:I'm willing to help out to. Leave the wives a credit card and tell them to go shopping.
Darn you guys that looks like fun, just when I thought I was done spending money on guns for a while now it looks like I'll have to save up to buy an AR!

I'd be interested. I need to swap out the forearm grip on my AR, the one that's on it is too heavy. Guess I've got to order the tools and figure out how to do that.

That'd be awesome and much appreciated. I'll probably order the new one (I'm leaning towards a YHM Diamond in Midlength) by the end of Oct. I'm in the Madison/Gluckstadt area but I'll be glad to come to you one night and knock it out.

Eh - if you want something light weight - try to get the JP or the Viking Tactical one - my rifle with 13" vtac handguard is only 5.4lbs - i think my hand guard is around 11oz
Just my 2 cents...

as an aside. i don't think you really have to have any tools to change hand gaurds, just some really strong fingers and hold your mouth just right(see above for more info)

I have the bottom half, if you get a top half, we can have a time-share AR!

I got an upper for sale in the classifieds!!! Wink, wink!!!
This sounds like a lot of fun. I shot an all 22 match in McComb a few months back. It was awesome!!! I'd love to do an all 22 multigun match. The ar match would be fun also, but 223 rounds ain't cheap if you know what I mean.

Bump..We need to try and get the ball rolling on this through the winter and get all the paperwork settled to present to the board for the annual meeting in February.. If any of you guys wanna sit down for lunch one day and try and iron out the details just let me know. I will try and head up this operation. I talked with Big Mike today and we both thought this was a great idea.
Thanks for all your interest!

Make sure its open to all calibers of AR. Pistol cals included. There is really no advantage there. Cans too! Maybe we could cut down some of the shots too since money is an issue.
oh and for the reloads I'm guessing I'll need a vest of some sort that will hold AR mags. Any suggestions for the full figured male? Cheap suggestions. We ate my golden egg laying goose and the draught killed my money tree.

We will keep that in mind. Not sure if we will be running vests or belt mag pouches. Haven't really worked out any logistics.. I got my vest from skdtac.com.

I believe that one linked above is the one I purchased in black and love it!!
