Any decent clubs that shoot USPSA in Dallas
I'm heading out to Dallas hopefully before the end of the year to stop by SV's office and discuss having a gun built. Figure it will be easier if I can actually see and handle the different components.
Would like to get in some shooting one day I'm there. Does anyone have experience with clubs local to Dallas that shoot USPSA? Looked on USPSA's site and did not see any big matches between now and the end of the year close to Dallas, bummer.
Guess I could wait till next year and tie in a big match with my trip, but I'm not a patient person and the build of my SV is going to take long enough, hate to delay it any longer.

Double Tap ranch is up that way. See if they're having a match.

Dallas Pistol Club...no USPSA, but steel matches that are like it.
All the people from Double Tap Ranch go there...I've shot with them severeal times.

Thanks guys, I've heard Double Tap is nice and the Steel matches sounds like fun.

SV should hook me up with a commission! Ha.
Here is a "one-stop shopping" reference for Texas matches. It's organized as a map, but the location balloons have all the match dates and club links. The locations on the map are placed at the entrances to the ranges, and yes, this was completely ripped off from a post by Steve J on the Enosverse. It is pretty nice though and it would be great to have something like this for Mississippi. Hint, hint, any of my favorite computer dorks listening?

I'm a computer dork (sad to say), I'll have to see how Steve J went about doing this.
Edit: The Google map thing is surprisingly easy
- Just sign in to Google (create an account if you don't have one)
- select Maps from menu
- click My Places
- click Create Map
- give the map a Title, Description, insure Public is selected
- click Save
- now move the map to a Range location, then click and drag and drop the Blue Balloon (at the top of the map) on the location of the Range
- enter Title and Description of the range (Title should be name of Range and Description can include web address of range and schedule of matches)
You can setup the map to allow others to collaborate on entering information. I'd be happy to setup a map, but being a newbie to the area, I'd need some info from folks about other ranges in MS that have Practical Pistol Matches

Re: Any decent clubs that shoot USPSA in Dallas
Recent conversation with wife:
Wife: "what do you want for Christmas"
Me: "I'd love to get a SV Limited gun and it could be my Christmas and Birthday present as I probably won't get it till next year around or after my b-day in June"
Wife: "don't you already have a gun"
Me: "yes, put not a Limited gun and saying I already have a gun is like telling a woman she already has a pair of shoes or purse....."
Wife: "well I could buy several shoes and purses for the cost of that gun"
Me: (inside voice) "I'm screwed, she will never understand, so might as well buy the gun myself and ask for forgiveness if she finds out about it"
So the trip to Dallas is still on, just as far as she is concerned the reason for the trip is to shoot a USPSA match, not to start the process of getting a new gun. My fib is partially correct as I will try to shoot a match while out there.

It's not a fib.
You said you were going to shoot a match. Are you going to shoot a match? Yes.
You're just doing other things. Like if your wife went to the grocery and stopped at a gas station on the way home. Exactly the same thing. Except yours requires an FFL.
Truth.

I like the way you think, you already have the mind of an old married man and you're not even married.Will_M wrote:It's not a fib.
