Steve Jobs dead

Post by sidroski on Wed Oct 05, 2011 6:51 pm

The media loves apple pc's so they'll have it on ad nauseum. Guy could change the stock market's day with a news conference though.

Actually should have been sold long ago...when Job's first got sick

The 4S announcement yesterday sure was a snoozer...while I'm not a Mac kinda guy...their products sure do impress...I have been considering an IPAD2 "toy" from Santa Claus this year

Sad to see him go, seems like a cool guy with a better handle on what people want then Bill Gates or the bone head currently run Microslouch.

what scares me is steve jobs had the exact same cancer i have. i know the suffering he experienced. the differance i believe is he took chemo forever and i quit after 6 months or so. the chemo literally kills ya.

i feel for his family and hope they find peace in his no longer suffering.

Hate to hear that about you Butch86. We'll be praying for you.

As far as Jobs goes all I can say is in the past few years We've come to love all of our Apple products. The iPod in '04, iPod Nano in '07, iPod Touch in '09, iPhone 4 in '10 (Wife got one a few months later), iPad 2 in '11 (Wife just got one too) and Apple Airport Extreme (the best wireless router I've encountered). I doubt these products, as we've come to know them, would have existed without Jobs. Heck, I may even get a Mac one day and I used to think Macs were for lattè sipping liberal fags that drive VWs and have pointy goatees!

I've had a number of Macs over the years, going back to the mid 80's. Besides all the modern "i-stuff", don't forget that things like a mouse and a windows-type interface is also part of Jobs legacy. Before that, it was all green-screen and pretty much limited to the business/manufacturing/accounting world except for Commodores and Timex Sinclairs.

Jobs didn't invent those easy interfaces, but he sure brought them to the forefront and made easy computing accessible to the masses. Microsoft had to change what they did and eventually overtook Mac, but Jobs got the last laugh when Apple brought him back and kicked off the iRevolution.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of him or his followers, he sure left his mark.

Jobs will be remembered for one thing...- Knowing what the customer wanted...and giving it to em...before they knew they wanted it....like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison...etc...a great inventor.... Too bad all you hear about was his work life...all you workaholic's out there...there is something out there besides work...course it all depends on whether you working for de man...or you ARE de man...

Think I'll get me a IPAD2

I just preordered his Biography, which is to be released October 24th. I'm particularly interested in his dealings with Bill Gates.
