Since those 4" Redhawks are kinda expensive.....
But the 7.5" can be found for around $300, so...

But the RBBB have got to go, so

One important lesson, Ruger stainless is right up there with kryptonite.

Both safes went under during Katrina. Five days before I could get stuff out and start cleaning it. Ruger stainless and Target Gray was the only finish that didn't need repair. All they needed was new pins and springs. S&W stainless RUSTED. S&W blue completely disappeared. Ruger was the ONLY manfacturer that completely rebuilt every gun without cost and paid return shipping to my door. Remington, Winchester, Kimber, Browning and Taurus sympathized but would charge shop rates for all work. S&W wanted $25 per gun to evaluate them before repairs started. When I purchase a new gun of any kind Ruger gets the nod if they build something comparable to what I'm looking at.

It is a factory Blackhawk sight that I replaced with a taller one. Just filed it flat on the bottom and drilled it for a screw. I also placed a pin under there as well to keep it from moving right to left. Probably not needed, but insurance never hurts.

Drew, Greenwood, and gun shows. That stainless one pictured was $300. I bought a blued one a while back that was $350, but it was wearing a Burris 2-7(i think) pistol scope.
I miss Robinsons Guns and his prices.

.357 or .44 Mag? I'd love to have a 7.5" .44 Mag to hunt with!

I guess we all have our favorites but you can't give Durability to anyone but Ruger. Frame a house with one and then take it shooting. Glad they treated you right.
How did your safes fair? What brand and how did you have them secured to the floor? We're they still standing when you got back?

The only issue with the safes was the smell after the fact. Finallyhad to replace all of the inside panels. Both were bolted down so they stayed. The Sentry in my shop was picked up and moved by a track-hoe. Had so scratches but it still works as it is supposed to. Washed both locks out with LOTS of fresh water then kerosine and fianally Kroil.
In June of 06 a fellow walked up to me in the yard and asked my name. He said I have something that might be yours. We found furniture 3/4 mile away and cloths and pictures farther than that so I asked what it was. He said the had a gun case of mine. My mental picture was Gun Cabinet. He said no like a bag. Immediately I thought of the day before we left and said, "A Bob Allen range bag?" I got home the day before we left and sat a rangebag onto of the short safe expecting to clean things up. Until he showed up I forgot about the bag and gun. He had spent nine months trying to find the owner discreetly because he figured the cops would keep it and not look for me. It is my youngest daughter's first pistol. I replaced all of the springsand pins. Buffed it with my dremel polish wheel andit is good to go. A bit ugly but it still shoots as good as it ever did.

Glad you got that back Shooter! Disasters bring out the best (MS Gulf Coast) and worst (N.O. citizens and their LEO) in people.
