With the thin barrel, drum mag and long bipod, looks more like a MG34.

You're right, the 34 has the round heat shroud.

With the large round sight with concentric rings bolted on the barrel, this one looks like it's set up for light anti-aircraft duty.

Yes it is a MG34, the MG42 had very large rectangular cooling windows on the heat shield in lieu of the small round ones on the M#34
