Girl with Down syndrome elected homecoming queen

FLOWOOD, MS (AP) - Students at Northwest Rankin High School chose character over grades and elected a girl with Down syndrome as their homecoming queen.

Kinda hits you where you live to think these students did this.

I'm the conservator of a 63 year old down syndrome child, I know how special they are. They only want your love, almost nothing else matters to them. They are truly God's chosen ones. Kudo's to the kids at this school for having the heart to make this beautiful girl's day.

She is (from the pic's) a very lovely and beautiful young lady. The students of NorthWest made a very good choice. They have someone who should make their school proud. Good for them and good for her!

10 i needed a feel good story from the news. so much gloom and doom that its great to have this on if only for a few seconds.

this gives you some hope in that generation.
