HAHAHA! wow that hadn't even dawned on me; the state fair is going on too (more traffic than normal for downtown).

I have a match at Magnolia that will last till noon, but after that, what the heck?

The homeless comment reminded me that the fair is in town. Usually the homeless sleep in stalls in the ag buildings so I bet Smith Park is full, lol!

As far as them being dangerous, I think you could throw a twinkie at them and they'd run. Looks like a bunch of Milsaps students.

***I yanked the picture, the whiner, I mean owner, is complaining about WAPT using it so it's best to be prudent. It's in the link below though.***

It appears a whopping 11 have signed up for Saturday so far but as noted above, these people are so disorganized who knows how many will show.

Occupy Mississippi
some of the media is trying to spin this thing as an anticapitalist movement. i want to remind people that we are not protesting capitalism. this needs to be stressed. this movement is against greed and corruption in politics. not take money from the rich, but to fix a system where if you have enough money you can buy the government.

Occupy Mississippi
A few of us did an interview with WAPT and WJTV today. We told them the time and place of the GAs and the Occupation. Beyond that though we said we could not say anything about specific issues without conferring with the rest of the assembly. Let's see how they spin that.
I spin it as you are an idiot. These morons don't even know what FLAVOR to make the kool aid. sheep

It's a good idea to escort the wife this weekend. No need for her to be exposed to such savage behavior.

Little late to this thread here, but I'm assuming everyone noticed this was all bull and nothing went down this weekend? Nor was it ever going to........

And if he thought USM was just one big 4 year party he's obviously a moron! I busted my butt for 3 years there and still only had a 2.54gpa when I finished

I made this comment on WDAM's Facebook page the other day, and I'll repeat it here:
They don't have an actual cause(outside of socialism, and most aren't intelligent enough to even realize thats exactly what they're describing), these protests are just the cool thing to do right now...it's comparable to "a day without shoes"(google it) and Herpes

LOL. Maybe that does it for some people.

Glad to see nothing went down. I for one was to busy to even get a burger much less go down there this weekend. Notice I said busy not lazy. Had a combined birthday party for my 1 year old and my 4 year old. It was great

+1 Daddy Q

really glad nothing went down. And i wonder if she even knows that the V for vendetta masks are being worn exclusively by the notorious hacking group Anonymous? (an affiliate group of the occupy this and that crowd).

Everyone knows about the Guy Fawkes implication behind the mask, but I doubt this crowd does.

and Jake...hold tight to your convictions!

We had some protesters down where I work. In the middle of a buyout & thought for sure I'd get laid off since I hadn't the last 4. So saying "the heck with it" I went down to watch them. Stokes was in an A/C'ed van but popped out when the cameras did. Wasn't carrying a pic of Medgar but a pic of his statue. All minority and guess what they gave them for lunch....Popeye's Chicken.
Pizza, chicken and salmon? May have to give this protesting a try!

Wife says they were protesting down near where she works. She and co-workers went walking at lunch today and walked by the protesters. All 4 of them.
