22 target ammo at Vans

well I went by there and they had plenty of Wolf and Eley black and Tenex and had 1 box of the Lapua Midas + I saw the prices weren't bad on the ones priced and the midas plus wasnt priced. I asked the young guy back there how much and he said $27-28 a box. I asked if he was kidding and he said it had that Lapua name on it and that is why. I told him it was over $10 a box more than anywhere else and he didnt believe me. he told me THEY pay $18 a box and told him I could get a brick for $149.99 and he said I should jump on it cause that was a steal and went back to eating his lunch and I was in shock.

so if you buy ammo at Vans check somewhere else cause he buys it at a higher price than we can looks like.

There is a fella who works behind the counter at Van's who is a forum member...forget his name...

He asked a few weeks ago about what they should carry for the 22 F class shooters..cause we were bitch'n....we all chimed in.

Did not know we was gonna have to bend over to buy it....It will stay on the shelf at those prices...again another gun counter person totally out of touch with the real world

Mom and pop stores are getting fewer and fewer. The big chains and online stores are buying a lot more quantities and are able to sell it to u at a very discounted price. We bitch and bitch about everything made in china theses days but it is us that have made this our reality.

The local store we buy it doesn't influence where its made....

Lapua and Wolfe not made in USA anyway...neither is SK

let's face it the internet has leveled the playing field quite a bit...folks are more informed on prices and unless you just gotta have it you can wait it out.

The above mentioned store is pretty famous for gouging....Its too bad they have the best reloading aisle in the state of MS...least of any I have seen

I will buy online whenever possible....group buys especially on reloading components that involve hazmat fees...

the Eley Tenex was cheaper than the midas + which is usually opposite. I was gonna buy it but. I hope they had it mis priced or he haf it confused with X-Act? dont know. but atleast they had a nice selection.

another thing I didnt like and it has happened alot there is the attitudes of the people at the gun counter there? always think the customer is a DUMBA$$ and doesnt know a dang thing. I bought a 870 from the forum member that works there and nothing but respect from him but everyone else well yall can deal with them.

Neck when you opening the gun store of the future that actually helps the customer and has the right prices?

Funny thing...when I go to Van's....tells his customer's in the reloading aisle...to go talk to me.... I can't tell you the number of times I've helped Van's customer's pick components out in the reloading aisle....many many times
