What a total idiot. Some people you just can't help. That is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen.

I've always been warned about "hang fires" but have never seen evidence of one. Anyone else?

I had a hang fire in my Garand one time with reloads. Squeeze trigger, hear the hammer hit, holding on target and then boom. Seemed like forever but it prolly only took half a second.
Always tried to anticipate things like that and be prepared.

Re: what NOT to do after misfire...
I at first thought "Man, what a moron", then after looking at it several times it appears that his hat comes off well before the gun fires and the hat seems to be pulled back by a string. I say fake, but like someone said, still a good reminder. However, no one needs to remind me not to look down the barrel of a gun whether loaded or even if I am 100% sure its not.
Even if that one's fake, there are still some real winners out there. Here's another moron for ya.

Re: what NOT to do after misfire...
WHen I was 12 years old me and my 13 year old cousin Mike (They called him Big Mike because ay 13 he was 5'10 and weighed nearly 300 lbs) got into a fight. Later that day I saw him coming down the alley. My father kept a 12 gauge Mossberg in the kitchen. I grabbed it, went out back, leaned it up against the fence, had it pointed straight at him with my finger on the trigger. He was about 50 feet away. I wanted to scare him. He didnt see me and kept coming down the alley towards my back yard. I ran back into the house. When I got in the back door, I opened the bolt and a shell flew out. It was loaded, had 3 rounds in it. I dont know what kept me from pulling that trigger other than God had other plans for me. But I had my finger on the trigger and was within a 1/4 inch of killing my 13 year old cousin. It gives me chills every time I think about it, to this day. Since then, I have been extra, extra, careful with firearms.

I almost shot my uncle in the back hunting. I was using a 44 Mag Lever action. I shot once and cycled the lever. I went to lower the hammer, when it slipped. He slowly turned around and gave me that look. He never raised his voice, but I knew I screwed up. I was about 14 at the time.

I had a hangfire with an 870 while duck hunting last year. Pull the trigger and click. I automatically shucked a new one in, and the shelled that clicked went off outside of the reciever. Could have been bad.
