10-15-11 Vintage Bolt-Action Match Results @ Magnolia

FIRST...... before any CONGRATS, ATTABOYS and KUDOS are handed out..... You see those 14 targets above....?
M1GF and Olack set up ALL those by themselves this morning. I got there at 8 AM (3rd to arrive) and they were setup. WE (me included) shooters today owe these 2 guys a BIG THANK YOU ! ! ! NOTE: M1GF arriving at the Crack of Dawn is his doing, but he needs HELP.

Now................ CONGRATS to PhillipM on winning the Vintage Bolt-Action HP match. I tried to hang with him, but my Rapid-Fire Sitting really SUCKED.....

The shooters on the firing line. Well, almost all of them.....................
Another FUN Hi-Power match, but HOT for the middle of October.

Oh crap, I forgot to label my slow-standing target, didn't I.... Hence the zero I guess

G, we looked for your SS target. Sorry, but next time make SURE you label (last name and string) your targets and they get collected. That is part of the shooter's responsibility.

I know it's my fault, no worries. It wouldn't have helped my score much anyways

Had a really good time at my first Vintage Bolt Action Match! Got to meet M1GarandFan, SubGunFan, Squeezer, and several others. Everyone was very helpful and supportive at my first rifle match.
I gotta do this more often!

Thanks. I surprised myself with that standing score. You, DevilDog and I all had bad rapid sitting scores. Must have been contagious. Believe it or not, I used a trick that William told me about when I got home and it came out real easy. I'm going to run it by a gunsmith and double check that headspace, but I've never had that problem until today and have fired several hundred rounds through it. Too bad too, I was doing fairly well with it too. Glad we had a great turnout today along with a couple of new shooters to our matches (Muleskinner & DevilDog).SubGunFan wrote:Look at M1GF's score............ #3 in the pack. Nice shootin' there J.

First rule of shooting: "Don't bring a Garand to a bolt-action match." Thanks to PhillipM for letting me use his 1903. Really nice rifle. Could not find the target with it, but had a great time.
Everyone mark your calendars for the 29th at MRPC and the 5th at Bogue Chitto. Let's get some turnout for these matches.

Sorry for the confusion. I'll see what I can do to round up some more shooters for the Bogue Chitto match on 11/5. You had a really good SF Prone score but those Rapid Fire stages are really tough with a bolt gun.DevilDog wrote:First rule of shooting: "Don't bring a Garand to a bolt-action match."
