A friend dropped by this afternoon with his guard buddy on the way home and his friend said, only a single man could have a reloading setup in the living room!

You're welcome, Richard. Glad you enjoyed shooting it. I got the stuck case out and dropped it off for Mr. Bullock to check the headspace, but I think it was just a bad case.

+1 to BubbaT, that was a cool video.
I was surprised from the look of the video that the M-39 I was shooting didn't appear to kick at all. Granted, it doesn't kick anywhere near like a Mosin-Nagant carbine version like the M-44, but it does have enough kick to get your attention. Funny in the video it looked like it wasn't kicking at all.
Go figure.....

M1GarandFan wrote:Thanks. I surprised myself with that standing score. You, DevilDog and I all had bad rapid sitting scores. Must have been contagious. Believe it or not, I used a trick that William told me about when I got home and it came out real easy. I'm going to run it by a gunsmith and double check that headspace, but I've never had that problem until today and have fired several hundred rounds through it. Too bad too, I was doing fairly well with it too. Glad we had a great turnout today along with a couple of new shooters to our matches (Muleskinner & DevilDog).SubGunFan wrote:Look at M1GF's score............ #3 in the pack. Nice shootin' there J.
Did you get that separated case out of your Enfield? That was a BUMMER....................![]()
.
Just a technicality:
I noticed that the rifle I was using was listed as a M-N 91/30. It was in fact a M-39.

Had lots of fun as usual.
Can't wait for the next one to warm up the old Garand again. I think I'll shoot my Springfield Armory M-1 this time. I think I've only shot it once before in the matches.

Going to get my RRA NMA2 tonight! I'll be ready to rock on the 29th.
It is tradition in my beloved Corps to sleep with your rifle until you are acquainted with it. I foresee several miles of rough road with the spouse.

At the end of this video you can compare the M-39 and the M-44. That M-44 hammers.

Glad you got it in! I foresee you becoming very acquainted with it sleeping on the couch!
I may bring out my evil black rifle, it depends if I'm tired of shooting my Garand after this weekend's F-class match!
