Rock House and Garretts. Garretts is on 8th st. next to autozone, Rock House is west of town. If you leave Garretts go west on 8th st and its out past Wal-Mart on the right.

When I was a kid I'd sometimes go in a big pawn shop down town that had long guns all around the wall. It was truly awesome to me.

It was in the middle of town probably somewhere near 24th Ave. and 5th St.

I have not been back in about 50 years though.

That was more than likely, Maxie's Pawn Store. I don't remember what street it was on. I can remember being a small boy and going in and buying a Leather Sling for my Mossberg Bolt Action .22. I bought the rifle from a guy known as Crooke Oglesby. I gave him $4 for it. I would do a little something to it and sell it back to him. He would do the same and sell it back to me. We made quite a good living off of that .22 for about a year.

That sounds right. At that time I had never seen so many guns in one place.

I guess it's closed now.

Of course, back then, Western Auto and Sears sold guns and every hardware store and lots of other stores sold ammo.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I'll stop reminiscing about the good old days now.

Bunker Hill is about 30 minutes west of Meridian. Give us a chance and we'll get you the best deal on a new gun around. Smile

Talk about "good ole days" the grocery store in my town used to sell 22 shells, and had a good selection.

PM'd. If you find it cheaper locally, let me know and I'll see what we can do.

Modern Outfitters is another good place to check out. They are on Hwy 39N about a half mile north of Johnson Toyota.

There is also a Pawn Shop called Vic's Pawn Shop on the Frontage Road over where the Old Gipson store was. I forgot about him. I've done bussiness with him before. He is a real nice guy. He has a decent line up of Pistol's and used Long Guns. He will even order one for you and sell it to you for a decent price.

There is also a Guy, I don't know his name, on Old 45 South going towards Clarkdale. He sells Ammo. He will order you what ever you want and give you a great price on it. It's hard to carch him there, All I can tell you is to look for a sign that says "Ammo for Sale". That little road leads into his house. He works out of a Building behind his house. If the Gate is locked. He's not at home. I think he works and that is a sideline business for him.

I was wondering about "Bunker Hill" myself. I've never heard of it.

Went to several around but no luck. The only thing I found that I had any interest in was a chippa 1911-22. It was priced at $280 but just not what I'm looking for. Oh well it was a good day.
