Building an 870 HD shotgun? Midway has 18" barrels on clearance

I have one of these on an 870, this + an extended mag kit = quick DYI HD shotgun.

Might be cheaper to just grab one at academy, their regular price is $109

CDNN has them for $69. 20" though but I could live with it 1.5" longer

Yeah, if you are in the vicinity of an Academy Sports and if they have one on the shelf. It would cost me about $30 in gas + lunch money to drive there & back. Not to mention time. Just a heads up for those who don't have a local source.

My mossberg is cut at 19 1/2 or so, doesnt bother me one bit. Had to go that length due to the spacing on the supports for the vent rib

Cannot remember his user name, but a guy i sold a mossberg to recommended ordering through wal mart, said they had good prices on barrels. I have not looked into it though. I do know they will ship an ordered item to a store free in most cases.

All good prices. I got one as a present from the wife. Remington made 18 1/2" with front and rear sites. Long while back. Cut off my maverick to 20" so I don't have to argue with a LEO, you never win those.
