just dropped off my LTW Commander for last bit of work

Post by ftsibley on Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:51 am

Well i finally got around to dropping off my gun to get a new barell, hammer, sear, disconnector, hammer strut, springs and trigger.
Going with Schuemann bushingless for the barrel, sticking with a long pull trigger, and went with Tim's reccomendation on rest of the parts.
This was all i was lacking to have this a full custom gun. I have been working towards this for about a year and a half so it didnt hurt quite so bad.

to date i have had the following done
Sightes upgraded
front strap 25lpi checkered
Reliablility tuned- cut ejection port, polished feed ramp ect
teflon finish on frame, matte grey.
Bobtailed Frame
new grips,

I guess when he finishes this all that will be original will be the slide and frame. Once the rest is done i am having the slide coated matte black.
I love the black on grey look w/ black hardware. Still trying to decide if i want to have the slide lightened a bit.

PICS to follow as soon as i get it back.

Good choice on the barrel. Schuemann makes great stuff.

I assume you mean Tim Thompson of Bill's Custom in the delta?

What brand trigger group parts are you using?

I told him to go with the same set up that he has on his carry gun, its the cats meow.

Sounds like it's going to be great. Bill's does great work on 1911s. Looking forward to the pics. I love gray or stainless frames with blue slides too. My next 1911 is going to be a 9mm done in two tone.
